International Yacht & Aviation Awards Nomination- Coral Royale in Yacht Interior Design

We are delighted to announce our founder Pei Li has been nominated for a top yacht interior design award.

Pei, who is also lead designer at Ori, has been shortlisted in the Product Design category at this year’s International Yacht & Aviation Awards for his innovative lighting pieces, which bring together eastern-inspired embroidery with contemporary interior pieces.

The awards are hosted by Luxe et al, a leading yachting and aviation magazine, and are now in their 10th year. They are the only design-focused awards in the industry, which means landing a nomination in no mean feat.

Pei said: “I am thrilled Ori's lighting pieces have been shortlisted in the prestigious International Yacht & Aviation Awards.

“Interior design is at the heart of the luxury travel industry so to be among the nominees for this top yacht interior design award is a massive honour.

“The International Yacht & Aviation Awards are hugely important in the industry because they promote the innovative and inspirational aspects of the design industry on a global scale.

“I believe talented individuals should be recognised and rewarded, and The International Yacht & Aviation Awards offer the opportunity and platform for them to exchange their unique ideas and expose their creativity.”

Ori’s unique table lights bring together traditional hand-embroidery with practical lighting pieces, all brought together under Pei’s East meets West philosophy – which he thinks will be a huge style direction over the coming year.

Pei added: “I feel design in general is heading towards a more crafts-focused direction. Discovering, preserving and repurposing fine craftsmanship is definitely on the rise.

“I also believe new technology, a fusion of East meets West and the emergence of new materials are going to be big news in the coming months and years.”

Pei will find out if he’ll scoop top honours at the award ceremony, which will be held in September 2020 at The Hotel Cipriani in Venice.

In the meantime, Pei will be working on his plans to open a London showroom to showcase his products, as well as expanding his collection to incorporate two new table lights.
