A stunning fusion of East meets West is at the heart of Ori Bespoke’s unique interiors offering.
Each design showcases the UNESCO World Heritage-protected Su Embroidery, an ancient Chinese embroidery technique traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. This unique form of embroidery sees each pattern hand-painted onto the finest silk before the artwork is brought to life in stunning needlework.
Pei has found a unique way to incorporate this most traditional of Chinese interior design into modern styling.
As well as bringing a Chinese artform to the fore in his work, Pei also takes inspiration from traditional Oriental folklore and motifs. He then combines this Asian-inspired interiors with Western influences to create a collection like no other.
He said: “Referencing traditional Eastern designs and patterns, every item from Ori Bespoke combines the classic with the contemporary for an elegant design approach.”
Ori Bespoke has two distinct product lines, both of which incorporate Su Embroidery.
First is the table lamps which combine the delicacy of embroidery with clean lines and metallic elements for a glorious interiors piece which both looks stunning and is perfectly functional.
Then there is the Mischievous Tiger collection. A range of colourful cushions inspired by the traditional Chinese belief that tigers will protect and ward off evil spirits.
Here Pei has created two distinct embroidery designs which are sewn onto a brightly-coloured silk canvas to create a cushion that commands attention wherever it is placed.
Pei said: “I like to explore different cultural aspects, from ancient to modern. Many of these intriguing details from ancient folklores and mythologies are my source of inspiration.

As the demand for contemporary Chinese interior design grows, Pei is currently working on new additions to his lighting range, with two new table lamps currently in the early stages of design.
